Daito KH Series CNC Mill Bevel Machines for H Beams
CNC mill bevellers for weld preparation on H beams: flange bevels and scallops cut automatically.
- Made in Japan
- Bevel and scallop
- Up to 1300 x 600 mm
- No flipping
Daito KH series mill bevel machines cut weld bevels and scallops on H beam ends with milling cutters instead of a torch. Flange planing, scallop and bevel are machined under program control, so the weld preparation is clean, consistent and ready to weld.
Three configurations suit different volumes. The KH is a single-end machine. The KHW links two machines to bevel both ends in one pass, the rear machine cutting the mirror image of the front. The KHR is a compact twin-type machine with front and rear cutters in one body. None of them need the beam flipped. They suit structural fabricators preparing beams and brackets for welded connections.
Key features
Single, Double or Twin
The KH bevels one end per pass. The KHW is two machines linked as one: the front end is cut on the infeed side, the beam moves through and the rear end is cut on the outfeed side while the next beam is started. The KHR puts both functions in a single-machine body, running the beam through and back so both ends are cut with no manual flip.
Triple-Line-Tip Cutters
Plane, scallop and bevel cutters use triple-line-tip inserts. On the KH and KHW, cermet tips cut the plane and bevel and carbide tips cut the scallop, and each spindle quill moves to reduce distortion for a smoother cut and longer tool life.
Automatic Scallop Shift
The scallop cutter positions itself from the program, so scallop and non-scallop ends are cut without manual set-up between pieces.
Fast and Quiet
Daito quotes a 700 x 300 x 13 x 24 H beam end in 2 min 25 sec and a 900 x 300 x 16 x 28 end in 2 min 40 sec, both including a 32 mm flange plane plus scallop. Integrated cast iron cutter heads and heavy square guide rails damp vibration, keeping cutting noise below 90 dB on the KH and KHW.
Rigid and Fully Covered
A rigid frame with a heavy cast iron vertical guide keeps chatter and cutting time down. The machine is fully enclosed, keeping chips in and the operator protected.
Tablet Control
A 10.4 inch Windows tablet panel runs the machine from preset work and cutting data. Programs are transferred by LAN or USB.
Flexible Product Flow
Finished beams can return to the infeed or pass straight through the machine, which suits irregular jobs and tight floor space. Bevel direction is changed by switching cutters, with automatic positioning.
Options
- Chain-linked powered roller table, so short pieces keep moving
- Infeed pusher for alignment
- Products discharger, spaces finished beams apart for removal
- Chip conveyor (pit required)
- Free roller tables
- Inner bevel cutters (KH and KHW)
- Rotary beacon light
Why fabricators choose Daito
- Made in Japan. Daito-Seiki designs and builds its machines in Japan, and it shows in the machining, the fit and the electrical work.
- Reliability. Daito machines are built for continuous production, with long periods between faults and less unplanned downtime over the life of the machine.
- Straightforward to run. Operators are productive in days, not weeks. The control is simple and does what the job needs.
- Built around the operator. Design decisions are made for the person running the machine, not for the brochure.
