Maruhide pipe profiling in Australia
The pipe profiler behind the Adelaide Oval roof.
CNC pipe profile cutting from Tokyo, building pipe cutters since 1967. The same machines cut the steel for the Melbourne Star, the Tokyo Skytree and some of the largest airports in Asia.
Maruhide at a glance
What Maruhide build
Maruhide Koki started in machine tools in Tokyo in 1955, has built pipe cutting machines since 1967 and introduced its first CNC pipe profiler in 1992. The factory is at Kamisu in Ibaraki, and the machines work in shipbuilding, offshore, pressure vessel, water plant, plant piping and steel structure shops across Japan, Asia, North America and Europe.
The Pipe Coaster cuts saddles, branch connections, holes, slots and weld bevels on pipe, and square and rectangular hollow section, with plasma or oxy-fuel and the bevel cut in the same pass. Cutting data is entered as numbers or brought straight across from Tekla or AutoCAD, so there is no robot teaching and no hand marking out.

Why we import Maruhide
Proven on landmark structures
Pipe Coasters cut the pipe for the Tokyo Skytree, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, Incheon Airport and the Tokyo Haneda runway extension, and closer to home the Adelaide Oval roof and the Melbourne Star observation wheel.
No teaching, no marking out
The operator enters numbers or imports the model from Tekla or AutoCAD. There is no robot program to teach and no template to wrap around the pipe.
Bevel cut in the same pass
Saddles, branch holes and slots come off with the weld preparation already on them, plasma bevels to 35 degrees, so joints fit up and weld without grinding.
Built to be looked after
A simple torch block with a break-away mount instead of a complex rotary head, a laser height sensor, no special foundation and a large fume collector as standard. Easy for a local technician to keep running.
