Daito SGA Series Servo Feed Bandsaw for Hard-to-Cut Materials
Servo-fed CNC bandsaw for stainless, tool steel, titanium and other hard-to-cut bar.
- Made in Japan
- Servo ball screw feed
- 410 to 800 mm
- For hard-to-cut alloys
The Daito SGA series is a heavy twin column CNC bandsaw built for the materials that wear out ordinary saws: stainless, die and tool steel, and titanium. Instead of a hydraulic cylinder, a servo motor and ball screw drive the saw frame down, so feed force stays constant through the whole cut. Daito rates it at around double the cutting speed of a conventional hydraulic feed on hard material.
It suits steel service centres, forge shops and machine shops cutting solid bar and billet from 410 mm up to 800 mm. The operator picks the shape and alloy on the touch screen, the machine measures the bar and sets the cutting conditions, then indexes and cuts the programmed lengths automatically.
Key features
Servo Ball Screw Feed
A servo motor and ball screw drive the saw frame through the cut at a constant, programmed rate. Daito rates it at around double the cutting speed of a hydraulic feed on hard-to-cut material, and it is not affected by hydraulic oil temperature as the machine warms up.
Linear Bearings for Square Cuts
The saw frame, saw guides and index vise all run on linear bearings. That rigidity keeps the blade running straight in large solid sections, where a small deflection shows up as a cut that is out of square.
Silencer Saw Guides
Daito silencer guides damp the vibration that stainless and other tough alloys set up in the blade. The cut is quieter, the finish is better and the blade lasts longer.
Cutting Data Built In
Select the shape and the alloy from the material list on the touch screen and the control sets blade speed and feed rate. Bar size is measured automatically, so the operator does not have to look up or key in cutting conditions.
Hydraulic Insert Guides and Deviation Detector
Hydraulically clamped carbide insert tips hold the blade close to the work, and a blade deviation detector stops the cut if the blade starts to wander, before an expensive bar is scrapped.
Wide Front Table and Index Roller Table
A wide front table gives clear crane access for loading heavy billet without fouling the saw frame. The index roller table carries the bar as it feeds, up to 8000 kg on the larger models.

Why fabricators choose Daito
- Made in Japan. Daito-Seiki designs and builds its machines in Japan, and it shows in the machining, the fit and the electrical work.
- Reliability. Daito machines are built for continuous production, with long periods between faults and less unplanned downtime over the life of the machine.
- Straightforward to run. Operators are productive in days, not weeks. The control is simple and does what the job needs.
- Built around the operator. Design decisions are made for the person running the machine, not for the brochure.
